On Monday, a set of photos were exposed online, showing the “Ludicrous” version of the Model 3 that was allegedly parked in the Tesla showroom in Malibu, California. Due to the fact that it was April Fool’s Day, many netizens expressed doubts about the authenticity of the photos.
However, this news was later confirmed by multiple sources. The first batch of exposed photos showed several “Ludicrous” version Model 3s parked outside the showroom covered with car covers, and a covered car was also parked in the center of the showroom, surrounded by seats, seemingly in preparation for the press conference.
Later that day, another social media user, BooDev, shared more photos showing the uncovered “Ludicrous” version of the Model 3 and Tesla’s chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen’s matte black Cybertruck pickup. The post said that the showroom was holding a private event for the new car.
The photos also show the “Ludicrous” version’s rear badge that was exposed at the end of February, with one photo showing a suspected new front bumper that has been aerodynamically optimized, and a short video capturing the scene of the car driving away from the showroom. According to BooDev, this model’s 0-60 mile/ Hour acceleration time will reach 2.9 seconds.
Over the past few months, the Tesla Model 3 High Performance test vehicle has been exposed many times. Von Holzhausen officially confirmed the arrival of this model at the end of January, and the new car is expected to land in North America, Asia, and the European market.
