Some car owners posted that: For the FAW Audi A4L, from acceleration, shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear, and then to 3rd gear, or decelerating from downshifting, there is a very obvious abnormal noise in the gearbox, like the feeling of parts falling. On June 1, it was found that when the vehicle was driving at low speed and shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear, from 3rd gear to 4th gear, and from 4th gear to 3rd gear, there was a clicking abnormal noise. On June 3, after being checked by the 4S store, it was informed that it was a normal phenomenon. But in the subsequent use process, there were multiple abnormal noises in the process of the vehicle’s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears shifting up and down, and it did not decrease.
In fact, regarding the problem of abnormal noise and jitter in the FAW Audi A4L gearbox, many car owners have complained earlier. Last year, some car owners posted that on May 26, 2022, there was abnormal noise in the fourth gear to the fifth gear and abnormal noise in the air conditioner less than ten days after purchasing the car. After the 4S store detected and replaced the clutch, there was abnormal noise in the third gear to the second gear and a forward jump when downshifting, and the abnormal noise in the third gear to the second gear was very serious. After the 4S store detected and replaced the gearbox and clutch again, there was abnormal noise in the fourth gear to the fifth gear again. After the 4S store detected and replaced the clutch again, there was a forward jump when downshifting from the third gear to the second gear, and multiple decelerations almost rear-ended, which has seriously affected safety, and many inspections and negotiations at the 4S store have not handled the problem well, and the abnormal noise of the air conditioner has not been handled well either. Another car owner also reported that when the vehicle speed reached 40 kilometers, and then stepped on the accelerator after lightly braking, an abnormal noise could be heard at the position of the gearbox, and it appeared every time, which seriously affected the driver’s attention.
It is worth mentioning that in December last year, the China Automobile Quality Network also once issued a consumer warning, suggesting that consumers should purchase carefully before FAW Audi solves the relevant problems of this model. At the same time, it is also recommended that FAW Audi A4L owners focus on inspecting the gearbox when maintaining and repairing the vehicle.
When the automotive industry paid attention to and checked the previous complaint data of FAW Audi A4L on the China Automobile Quality Network, it was seen that the problem of complaint about the gearbox was relatively more in the 2020 FAW Audi A4L and the 2022 FAW Audi A4L. Among them, the data of abnormal noise of the transducer in the 2020 model reached 208, and the complaint volume of the 2022 model more than doubled to 427.
The data shows that the Audi A4L is a hot-selling model under the Audi brand and was introduced into domestic production by FAW Audi in 2003. In November 2008, FAW Audi launched a long-wheelbase version of the fourth-generation Audi A4 for the Chinese market, named “A4L”. Compared with the imported model, the domestic version has a 60mm longer wheelbase.
