Malicious slander! BYD sues multiple media outlets

On August 28, BYD’s Online Reporting Center officially filed lawsuits against self-media accounts such as “Xiaoyu Doesn’t Understand Cars” and “Tiger and Wolf Talk About Cars”. The specific situations are as follows: 1. The self-media account “Xiaoyu Doesn’t Understand Cars” released untrue and insulting remarks in its video, slandering the reputation of BYD and the Fangchengbao brand. 2. The self-media account “Tiger and Wolf Talk About Cars” and Jiang XX released insulting and slandering remarks targeting BYD on multiple platforms, with obvious subjective malice. The BYD Online Reporting Center stated: The internet is boundless, but words and deeds have boundaries. The internet is not outside the law, and the guise of online accounts will not serve as a shield for infringement and exemption from liability. The BYD Online Reporting Center will continue to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests through legal means. At the same time, it sincerely calls on the majority of netizens and friends not to create rumors, not to spread rumors, and jointly build a civilized, harmonious, healthy and upward online environment. It is understood that “Xiaoyu Doesn’t Understand Cars” is a self-media blogger on Douyin with 58,000 fans; “Tiger and Wolf Talk About Cars” has 31,000 fans on Douyin. Yesterday, after learning of being sued by BYD, “Xiaoyu Doesn’t Understand Cars” released a video response on Douyin, saying that BYD sued him without even writing the amount of compensation, looking down on him too much. Others sue for 3 million or 5 million yuan, and straightforwardly hoped that BYD would withdraw the announcement and fill in the amount of the lawsuit again. He also said that the monthly sales of the Fangchengbao 5 being one or two thousand units was not his fault, and the eyes of the masses are sharp. At the end of the video, he also expressed support for BYD’s actions, and said that for those malicious smears and online trolls on the internet, they must be cracked down. Previously, on June 19, Li Yunfei, the general manager of BYD’s Brand and Public Relations Department, posted that a certain automaker was using underhanded public relations tactics to belittle, contrast unfavorably and maliciously slander the BYD Group’s brand and products. Regarding the above and past situations, now it solicits valid clues and evidence of black public relations from the majority of netizens and all sectors of society, and rewards 200,000 to 5 million yuan to providers of valid clues and evidence. Li Yunfei said that he hoped Chery would become the second in the market, getting as close to BYD as possible. “This is selfish. Chery can help us share some of the heat, because the competition is now too fierce. There are all kinds of open, covert, aboveboard and underhanded tactics, both decent and indecent.” On June 20, He Zhiqi, the executive vice president of BYD, posted that sometimes being smeared by others is also an achievement, indicating that you are doing well and threatening others’ survival, so they have to resort to extraordinary means. For example, if someone smears the fuel consumption of our DM 5.0, the best response is not a war of words, but to call on all car owners to actually measure and show the fuel consumption. The word-of-mouth and experience of users are the best yardstick. When someone bites you while walking, my thought is not how to bite back, but how to walk faster so that you can’t bite, and at most carry a stick for self-defense. Subsequently, Li Yunfei reposted the Weibo post, saying: “We want to be the ‘three-good students’ (good technology, good products, good prices) in the automotive industry, so as to gain the choice and recognition of more consumers.” He said that everything is determined by sales. It is estimated that the sales this month will be even higher and continue to leave far behind! Although moving fast, the stick still has to be carried! And @BYD’s Legal Department. To combat “online black public relations”, on August 23, BYD’s Online Reporting Center posted that in the past month, many users have provided it with some initial clues, including organized chat records of online trolls, contrast-unfavorably draft materials, batch likes of negative reviews to raise the ranking, etc. BYD detests such behaviors and is determined to pursue them to the end! For this batch of clue providers, an initial reward of 1,000 to 50,000 yuan will be provided. At the same time, BYD will follow up with the clue providers and reward them depending on the value of the subsequent supplementary clues. If evidence that meets the requirements of our previous reward offer can be provided, another reward of 200,000 yuan and above, with a maximum reward of 5 million yuan, will be given.
